Stephanie is naturally grateful and tells him the story of how she ended up like that and who she is. I’ll just end by saying that I enjoyed it a lot and was glad I returned to it after my hiatus. I like The Famous Heroine better than manrello others though because it’s closest to my favorite Balogh’s work though it still has it’s dark moments.
The romance between Jennifer and Gabriel is drawn out slowly and organically through wonderful bits of dialog. Their emotions have a truth that I recognize and feel.
Sep 26, Linda rated it really liked it Shelves: I’m never able to buy in I’ve noticed an interesting trend with Goodreads’ ratings for regency romances The action in this book just dragged on a bit for me, the pacing just felt repetitive and very slow at times. As she says mqntello one point in the book – she is in love with the idea of Kersey, at least through most of the book.
Nov 21, Genieve Ong rated it it was amazing Shelves: The rationality of both our main heroes even when they were misguided is refreshing. But then the narrative never stops to discuss that: Partly because I admire how well Balogh pulls this off.
Un gioiello raro (I Romanzi Classic) by Mary Balogh on Apple Books
Dec 27, Sharyn rated it really liked it. The first is the “way” Cora laughed. First, I love the concept. I liked his friend, the Earl, whose story is intertwined, much better. Balogh and have no regrets reading this. On his own, I wouldn’t have continued to majtello more about this unlikable man.
Well I did enjoy reading it, I think it’s representative of Balogh’s early style but I also thought it was a very sad book. These lines by Sir Albert Boyle are so beautiful. Alistair Munro, Duke kary Bridgewater, is on his way beck to London after spending a country weekend with friends.
Dark Angel (Stapleton-Downes, #3) by Mary Balogh
I appreciated that Priss was an actual prostitute and there wasn’t any hedging there. For instance, he never figured out she was a fallen gentlewoman. Alistair does not know this, howe Alistair Munro, Duke of Bridgwater, is riding in his carriage when he comes upon Stephanie Gray, a woman walking the road in a brightly colored cloak and a bonnet with differently colored plumes.
The person cll isn’t part of the norm or establishment and whose wry observations often can be used to hold a mirror up to people who are part of the establishment.
The Plumed Bonnet
This has two major problems. Aug 31, Leona rated it really liked it Shelves: Until then, the theme is heavily on self-discovery, and attempting to determine who she really is after years of being a Governess, and then having to be The Perfect Duchess. He has a little bit of a cama past, so he’s a bit self-centered. Face the truth, its a brothel and youre a prostitute.
This story was so sad for Stephanie for most of it. The love scenes between these two are some of the most uncomfortable that I have ever read because they are so emotionally unattached and mechanical. He doesn’t want Priss to be different from other women and he fights mangello on every level.
Sexual relations are treated in an interesting way There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Alistair Munro, the Duke of Bridgwater, was bored with his life. After 2 months, he decides to take a chance at a bit more permanence and makes Prissy his mistress. Priscilla Wentworth comes from a nice family and is a refined lady but she finds herself alone after her father and then her brother pass away from illness.
A Precious Jewel
While she isn’t depressed or suicidal, Cora spends an inordinate amount of time wishing she could die when embarrassed or mortified. Someone sort of sweet in a way and someone who—well, who would bleed if she cut herself, if you know what I mean. There they slowly began to know each other, but the new duchess still maintains the emotional barrier that she believes is expected of him.
Only a couple of times. Cora was Amazonian in height with large feet, attractive but not beautiful and had a habit of saying and doing things that, for lack of a better word, was non-plussed.
Amazon Music Stream millions of songs. And so I can’t read most regency romances on the market today.
