Is the power consumption the same for both the LF and F part at 3 PIC Microcontrollers (PIC10F, PIC12F, PIC16F, PIC18F)» LF vs F power. Based on a powerful RISC core, the PIC® microcontroller architecture provides users with an easy migration path from 6 to pins among all families, with little . The data sheet shows everything pretty much identical except the LF version has a chart showing oscillator zone being ok at lower voltages. Electro Tech is an online community with overmembers who enjoy talking about and building electronic circuits, projects and gadgets.
LF vs F power consumption 16LF | Microchip
Always made me wonder if they just checked there chips in to see if they stay in spec. The 16Fx series actually wants a bypass cap on a couple of the input pins specifically for the regulator. All this because Mchip makes so many variations of chips that we can’t find pcs on the shelf anywhere when our customer has a panic order.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Or did the LF part just go through an extra test to check it was ok running at lower voltage and then got marked as LF?
Personally if your board has the cap designed on and you do not need the pins I would still use the cap, but it depends on your environment and the noise. Thanks for the quick response. Media New media New comments Search media. Just saying hello Started by MichaelaJoy Yesterday at 6: But the datasheet seems to be a little lax in explaining the difference between the F and LF parts, so naturally I’m just a little paranoid.
Is the power consumption the same for both the LF and F part at 3. I had a vague memory from the old days that the F and LF parts were the same s9lpt363dg, but the LF had passed some additional testing.
These pins are not on the chip you are using so you should be fine. Also look at the Voltage frequency graphs.
Potentiometer Questions Started by norbss Yesterday at Pigskin Tony New Member Sep 22, I agree a person needs to read into the datasheet a little deeper to find clarity on this topic, however it is there in the data sheet. But say you pick a 18f And you get 10 of them 5 or more will run fine at the Lf voltage Levels.

Difference between PIC LF and PIC F? | Electronics Forum (Circuits, Projects and Microcontrollers)
Another item that is easily overlooked between some F and LF parts is that often the LF part does not have an internal voltage regulator for Vcore and therefore it must be supplied externally on the Vcore pin. You can choose the pins with the fuses. Essentials Only Full Version. Say between a 18F and s9lpr633dg Some F series do not s9lpr3633dg as low as the LF but the chip you are using has the same low voltage range. Forums New posts Search forums.
Was I correct in inferring that as long as I’m below 3.

Forums Posts Latest Posts. I’m interested in the exact reason one part is F and another is LF? Debug breakpoints automatically disabled Future of PIC32 16F88 cannot set internal oscillator frequency beyond A few seconds of searching. They do this with ARM chips as well, since the core runs at 1.
From all I can gather, the F should work s9lpr363vg as well for me as the LF part.
