For a book written almost 40 years ago it was enjoyable and entertaining. His plan worked but also backfired on him, as Alex and Elysia decil fine with marrying each other.
Adding him to the story was so unnecessary. I died cursing your face, Alex. When fate throws Alex and Elysia into a scandalous situation, Alex suddenly lqurie it surprisingly difficult to tear himself away from her.
Elysia takes her glowing innocence and hits the road with a vague plan of finding mcvain in London. Chance the Winds of Fortune. Their love affair, suddenly she knew she loved him. I could have done without some of their bickering, punishing kisses ick and scenes of Alex ordering Elysia around, but their pairing worked in the end. I have re-read this book so many times I have gone through 3 different copies. That said, I loved it and will definately be reading more of Laurie McBain’s work. He wants her, he plays games with her to get her to succumb to his will, he is jealous, and ok I can’t seem to have anything nice to say about him.
